Pranayam / Meditation

Pranayama is a practice relating to the control and regulation of the breath through specific breathing techniques and exercises. Pranayama exercises help us to clear physical and emotional blocks or obstacles in the body so that the breath, and prana, can flow freely. 

Meditation is a yogic process of providing deep rest to the system by allowing the mind to calm down to its basal states. It is often looked upon as a relaxation technique to be used for treating stress and stress-related illnesses. No matter which school of thought we belong to, the one common essential ingredient of meditation that runs across all is the ability to sit still. In the beginning, it takes practice. But once we reach higher stages, it naturally happens. So, to start with, it’s good to practice sitting in silence, without moving our body.
