Moreover, it fosters love for the Divine and offers liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
Origin of Shri Ramcharit manas
In the depths of Lord Shiv’s heart, the genesis of Ramcharit manas took shape (note that “Manas” signifies the heart). Lord Shiv bestowed upon this narrative the name “Ramcharit manas” for two profound reasons: firstly, it encapsulates the life account of Lord Ram, and secondly, it resided as a cherished treasure within His heart, awaiting the right moment for revelation. When the opportune time arrived, Lord Shiv narrated this divine saga to his consort, Parvati ji.
Subsequently, through the benevolence of Lord Shiv, fervent devotion and an unquenchable desire welled up within the heart of Tulsidas ji, igniting the inspiration to compose Manas in the year 1574 A.D
